Dr. Castillos, oncologist in the Triangle region of North Carolina, supports the Celebration of Life: 5K Walk/Run
Organized by “survivor sisters” Rhonda Hicks and Karen Shayne, this event brings cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, families and friends together to celebrate life and one another. The race site will also include Luminary Lane, a portion of the race course dedicated to the memory of loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer.
We are in awe of Rhonda’s energy and zest for life, and we are honored to have been part of her cancer treatment journey. She was first diagnosed with stage 2 non-Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma in 2014 and again in 2021. She completed treatment in late 2023 and is now in remission. She embodies the spirit of cancer survivorship, working tirelessly to support other survivors.
